Safety Manager
Pacific Northern Environmental LLC (PNE LLC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment. This individual will play a critical role in upholding and advancing the health and safety standards across all divisions of our company. The ideal candidate will possess the leadership and technical skills necessary to provide proactive safety oversight, exceptional service, and collaborative support to our employees and clients. Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States. The Safety Manager will oversee jobsite audits, assist in the implementation of safety policies and programs, conduct incident investigations, support employee training, and serve as a resource for safety compliance across all levels of the organization. Education and Experience Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in safety management within construction, industrial, or environmental sectors. Professional safety certification(s) such as CSP, ASP, or CHST (preferred or ability to obtain). In-depth knowledge of OSHA, WISHA, EPA, MSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of engaging with personnel from field employees to senior leadership. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, safety software platforms, and digital reporting tools. Overnight travel required (when directed). Driver's license required and must meet eligibility requirements to be covered under the company's vehicle insurance policy. Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies Assist, plan, and develop safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices (SOP, JSA, etc.), OSHA and other local, state, and federal safety regulations. Conduct audits and inspections across multiple projects and locations. Recommend measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards. Identify and advise on PPE, protective clothing, and safety equipment that may provide protection dependent upon the specific hazard being encountered. Lead or assist in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions. Develop, implement and/or conduct training in areas of hazardous materials, confined space rescue, LOTO, fall protection, and other subjects as needed. Support the implementation of safety procedures and initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance through regular follow-ups. Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement comprehensive safety plans that align with project scope, timelines, and client-specific safety requirements. Act as the designated Safety Office on job sites as needed. Maintain detailed records, documentation, and reports for internal and regulatory use. Ensure safety data sheets (SDS) are maintained and readily accessible. Able to manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline driven environment. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall safety program objectives. Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Move about the jobsite as needed. Move work related equipment up to 50lbs. Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer and cell phone, air monitor and other testing devices. Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs, working at heights and operating lifts as needed. Some travel and overnight stays may be required (company to pay for accommodation and per diem). Perform duties in an industrial and/or construction environment, where noise levels are high at times and may involve confined spaces. Must be able to report in office in Longview, WA when not in the field/traveling.
