OPS Tutor Opportunity Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a part-time opportunity for the position of OPS Tutor with the Learning Commons Department. What You'll Do This position will be responsible for providing small group and one-on-one tutoring services to TSC students in specific areas: Anatomy and Physiology Mathematics (Liberal Arts, Statistics, College Algebra through Calculus) Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) Computer Programming Accounting & Economics Public Speaking (and Writing preferred - Grammar and Mechanics, Document Citation Styles, Organization) Work Schedule: Monday
Friday, up to 25 hours per week; Must be available at least 10 hours weekly. Who We're Looking For We're seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have: This position requires successful completion of coursework, and the candidate is proficient in subjects they are interested in tutoring. A college degree is not required but is preferred. Candidates for the position will be required to pass a qualifying exam (80% or higher) to tutor in a subject or course. For math, business, technology, and science courses, a grade of 'A' in a specific course within one year of the potential start date will qualify an applicant to tutor that subject in lieu of an exam. Applicants must upload the following items: Unofficial Transcripts Recommendation Letter Other Job Requirements: Successful hires must be able to attend mandatory training scheduled prior to Semester start, and complete training within set time frames.
