We're looking for Cloud Application Architects to join our team supporting the United States Air Force. You'll work in a Cloud Software Engineering role, working with teams to leverage and expand your client's capabilities. We are seeking highly skilled and mission-focused Cloud Application Architects to support the U.S. Air Force's Cloud One EAMM program. This role is critical in driving the modernization, replatforming, and optimization of mission applications as they transition to secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Responsibilities include: Lead the architectural design, modernization, and migration strategy for legacy and current Air Force applications moving to commercial cloud platforms. Develop and document cloud-native and hybrid architecture solutions tailored for Air Force mission needs and aligned with Cloud One best practices. Support application assessments, refactoring recommendations, and migration path decisions using standardized tools and frameworks. Collaborate with program cybersecurity teams to ensure designs meet DoD RMF, FedRAMP, and Air Force compliance requirements. Advise application teams on containerization, serverless architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable deployment patterns. Provide architectural mentorship and governance throughout the application lifecycle-from discovery through ATO and deployment. Translate mission requirements into technical designs and ensure alignment with enterprise cloud strategies (Cloud One, Platform One). Support performance tuning, cost optimization, and availability planning across multi-cloud environments. Interface with engineering, cybersecurity, and government stakeholders to present designs, conduct design reviews, and troubleshoot complex issues. Experience with architecting and developing scalable, reliable cloud native applications such as AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle. Experience building cloud native microservice full stack applications such as frontend, backend, or data storage solution. Experience working in a multi-cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle. Experience working with DoD STIGs or CIS Benchmarks, including hardening virtual servers or adhering to security controls. Experience with IaC such as Terraform or Ansible. Experience troubleshooting cloud native application deployments and configurations. Experience troubleshooting application code and configuration. Additional qualifications include: Experience managing and configuring Ubuntu, RHEL, and Windows Server operating systems. Experience with vulnerability management and dynamic or static code analysis. Experience in Identity Authentication and Authorization, including Single-Sign-On, SAML, or OpenID. Experience with Cloud Native services such as virtual servers, database services, and networking infrastructure. Experience with Cloud Native account management services such as AWS Organizations or Azure Management Groups. Active Secret Clearance Required and Must Be U.S. Citizen. Work Location: Remote/Hybrid in Lexington, MA.
