Controller Position

Future plans include a skincare product line and national expansion into multiple new markets this year and beyond. Position Overview
The Controller will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will play a strategic and tactical role in shaping Alchemy 43's financial infrastructure during a period of rapid growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader with a track record of building scalable systems in a high-growth, multi-unit retail or consumer business. Key Responsibilities
Lead the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategy and annual operating plans Prepare comprehensive cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis Support strategic decision-making with financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance dashboards Manage outsourced accounting, payroll, and tax vendors to ensure accuracy and compliance Oversee the general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end close process Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements Coordinate year-end audits and ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements Periodic filing of state sales & use taxes Serve as the financial point of contact for external stakeholders, including board members, auditors, and investors Perform Quarterly Investor Reporting package and Quarterly Board presentations. Respond to investor inquiries Partner with operations, marketing, and people teams to align financial plans with organizational goals Develop location-level reporting to track unit economics, contribution margin, and customer acquisition costs Oversee budgeting and forecasting for all departments, ensuring fiscal discipline across the organization Perform other duties, special projects, or initiatives as assigned by executive leadership, including those outside the scope of this job description, as needed to support the evolving priorities of the organization Vendor Management
Evaluate and negotiate vendor agreements supporting the Director of Procurement, including insurance and software subscriptions Identify and implement finance systems and automation tools that scale with company growth Transition financial operations from outsourced to in-house as appropriate Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required); CPA or MBA (preferred) 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role Experience in multi-location retail, hospitality, or healthcare services preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms; Excel modeling expertise; Not required but helpful if proficient in Zenoti and Shopify Proven ability to build accounting systems, processes, and teams from the ground up Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Location
