Multimedia Designer

The Multimedia Designer will lead the visual strategy for the Institute by building and maintaining a compelling and consistent brand. As the visual and graphic design lead on the communications team, the Multimedia Designer will design and produce all visual content for the Institute, including visual communication products for our web, email, social media, and print platforms. The ideal candidate will have a combination of creative and brand-building skills and experience, as well as an eye for detail and aesthetics. The Multimedia Designer will report to the Senior Director of Communications, Marketing and External Engagement. Responsibilities include: Leading in the design, development, and production of digital and print materials. Producing compelling and professional highlight videos of the Institute's research, education, and outreach efforts. Contracting, managing, and providing technical and aesthetic oversight of audio, video, livestream, lighting, and photography vendors. Managing the Institute's digital asset library. Advising on new software and online platforms. Overseeing the Institute's multimedia equipment. Coordinating production support with outside vendors. Ensuring that graphic projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the user's satisfaction. Performing other related work as needed. Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field and 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia/video production, or a related field, professional graphic design experience, and proficiency in Canva and Adobe Cloud.
