Artistic Roller Skating Instructor

The Artistic Roller Skating Instructor position is responsible for teaching artistic roller-skating skills in groups, supporting company or facility events, and promoting The Rinks while embodying the company's values and mission. Responsibilities
Instruct group classes at varying skill levels, from Star Skate to Pre-Competition to Competition Team Program Assist in the development of future programs and events such as Home School Program, community classes, facility and company-sponsored events, competitions, figure skating camps, shows, exhibitions, etc. Follow the facility's class curriculum (based on USARS Star Skate model and The Rinks' developmental programming) and agree to attend PowerPlay sessions and any additional employee training Assist in the production and promotion of facility shows, exhibitions, competitions and events Provide positive, constructive feedback when evaluating skaters Maintain a professional and ethical approach to a growing clientele Meet all company standards and comply with instructor guidelines Interact with customers in a welcoming and professional manner while promoting The Rinks' values Communicate facility and company program information to guests and support the company's pursuit of excellence in all areas of figure skating, hockey, and recreational skating Provide recommendations for skater advancement through the programs offered in The Rinks facilities Perform other duties as assigned Skills
High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required Must be 18 years of age or older Experience in the sport of artistic roller skating, including competitive history, show experience, judging and/or coaching experience Comprehensive knowledge of USA Roller sports and World Skate regulations. Actively pursuing education opportunities within the sport For Star Skate Instructor (no private lessons): Has current USA roller sports coaching Membership, Star Skate Certification, SafeSport annual verification, and Annual US Background Check For Pre-Competition and Competition Team Instructors (private lessons): Actively pursuing World Skate Certifications*, has current USA roller sports coaching membership, SafeSport annual verification, Annual US Background Check, and Liability Insurance for Private Lessons. Has Completed all USA Roller Sports Coach Compliance (see USA Roller Sports website for a list of requirements) * World Skate level 1 certification must be completed within 18 months of hiring Present a consistent, professional, motivating, and enthusiastic teaching style and able to direct a class efficiently using time management skills Possesses exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with guests and fostering a welcoming environment for skaters Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with varied personalities and at different levels Able to maintain accurate records, such as evaluations, attendance records, etc. Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and early mornings/evenings Able to communicate The Rinks vision and commitment to quality service, products, and entertainment Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

USA Roller Sports Membership or USA Roller Sports Coach Compliance Experience Required - 0-1 Year This position is on-site.
