Overnight Team Lead/Dispatcher
Summary: Jefferson Lines is looking for a team-focused individual with a customer-first mindset to join our company as Team Lead at our Billings facility in Montana. At Jefferson Lines, we are passionate about customer experience. From booking tickets in our mobile app all the way to boarding the bus, our goal is to provide our passengers with their #1 Bus Experience. The Billings Overnight Team Lead will be unique in that you will lead the Billings Ticket Agents as well as dispatch a set number of days each week. The Overnight Supervisor will also support the Driver Supervisor with driver support. Team Lead Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Train and lead terminal employees. Assist in preparation of work schedules to obtain optimum utilization of human resources and facilities. Respond to requests for passenger ADA accommodation. Manage the sales function by taking orders and fulfilling ticket and bus bill requests for customers with credit card and charge accounts. Dispatch Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate bus movements and driver scheduling throughout network to ensure KPIs are met. Ensure compliance with planned fleet rotations and operator assignments. Maintain near-real-time driver availability by updating systems with outstanding driver status issues during shift. Authorize and arrange other carriers to complete scheduled service runs in emergency situations. Respond quickly and critically to unplanned travel/service impacts to ensure passenger/driver safety and arrival. Arrange for minor emergency repair service/towing of motor coaches or extra buses/drivers in case of breakdowns, accidents, or heavy traffic. Always maintain consistent and quality communication with drivers to help answer questions, address concerns, and solve issues in a timely manner. Ensure drivers are set up for success before leaving for their route by informing them of detours, route/stop changes, etc. When necessary, assist drivers with accommodation, food, and transportation. Manage and report safety and/or customer related issues as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date company and industry communication at all times. Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents that apply to the duties herein described. Ability to write reports, correspondence and tracking programs. Ability to effectively speak before employees, customers and management. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Commitment to work as a team member for the benefit of the company. Ability to interpret and generate a variety of instructions furnished in written or verbal form. Excellent communication, organizational, time management and leadership skills. Ability to work with limited supervision and direction. Ability and commitment to handle information in a confidential manner. Be detail oriented. Ability to calculate figures, amounts and statistics. Ability to meet deadlines, at times in a dynamic work environment. Intermediate level of computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office skills and Dispatch software. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. Education and/or experience: A two-year vocational or associate degree in business or related field. Two years of related experience or High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of four years of related experience in sales, customer service, transportation, or related area. Must have valid driver's license. Must be willing to obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement within 6 months of hire.
