We have an immediate need for a Project Mechanical Engineer in Atlanta, GA, working on an OEM-Funded Military Aircraft project. This is estimated to be a 12-15+ month contract, with a possibility to go direct. Summary Of Functions:
Ensure system design is compatible and capable of meeting requirements. Design flight-worthy structures and electromechanical systems, conduct tolerance, stress, and thermal analyses, conduct trade studies, and ensure designs are suited for manufacturability and are capable of meeting performance requirements. Interpret design requirements Design structural and electromechanical systems meeting requirements Create solid models and drawings of components and assemblies Conduct tolerance, stress, and thermal analyses Conduct trade studies Demonstrate design-for-manufacturability Provide guidance to design team members Provide input and/or develop schedules and statements of work Technical writing including the generation of engineering reports ready for submission to regulatory authorities Requirements:
More than five years' experience using SOLID WORKS for design More than five years' experience in FEA with proficiency using NASTRAN or ANSYS Experience with the ASME pressure vessel code and welding of metal alloys Preferred: Previous experience developing, testing or supporting aircraft systems is HIGHLY preferred. This is phase 2 of any ongoing aerial firefighting project. Location: Atlanta, GA
