Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician - 2nd Shift
The Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards during 2nd shift operations. Duties include monitoring production processes, conducting inspections and audits, verifying sanitation procedures, maintaining documentation, and reporting non-conformances. Works closely with production and sanitation teams to uphold regulatory, company, and customer requirements. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations required. Hours are 2:00PM - 10:00PM, Monday - Friday with occasional weekends if needed. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality assurance programs for raw food, including HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs. Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC, and other regulatory requirements. Lead internal and third-party audits, addressing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with operations, production, and R&D teams to uphold product quality and safety. Monitor and analyze quality data, identifying trends and implementing corrective measures. Conduct employee training on food safety protocols and quality control procedures. Investigate non-conformance issues, ensuring timely resolution. Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance FSQA processes. Report consumer safety and quality non-conformances and deviations to Supervisor. Placing the product on hold and further evaluation. Generate value by anticipating, analyzing, solving, and preventing problems. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Microbiology (Required). 3+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance in a food manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, and third-party audit schemes (SQF/BRC). Experience managing audits and working with regulatory agencies for raw food product. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to lead and train teams in a fast-paced production setting. Preferred Qualifications: HACCP and PCQI certification. Experience with supplier quality management and root cause analysis. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
