Armed Public Safety Officer Interview Day

Emory Healthcare is now hiring armed public safety officers. Interview days are August 4th and August 6th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Hiring is for Emory John's Creek Hospital and Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. The exact interview location and additional details will be shared upon confirmed RSVP. To participate in the interview event, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for either role listed below: Armed Public Safety Officer

Minimum Requirements:

Two (2) consecutive years of armed security, military, or law enforcement experience within the last 7 years

Must meet one of the following: Possess a P.O.S.T. certification, OR

Be registered through the military (DD214 or current Military ID)

All active, reserve, retired, or honorably discharged personnel qualify, OR

Hold a federal, state, or local firearms license/certification (e.g., Department of Homeland Security, NASA, NRA, GBI, Secretary of State)

Must successfully complete the Basic Security Officer and Firearms Course (mandated by the Secretary of State) within 3 months post-hire

Must complete training to carry non-lethal weapons (Taser and/or baton) within 3 months post-hire

Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license and have a clean driving record

Must be able to operate a company vehicle

Must pass a psychological exam

Must obtain the following within 12 months of hire: IAHSS Basic Certification

BLS Certification

Must complete FEMA IS 100, 200, 700 & 800 within 6 months of hire
