Concrete Laborer

Harper Construction is seeking a full-time Concrete Laborer to join their growing team in Paducah, KY. This hands-on position is ideal for a skilled laborer with concrete experience who can assist in form setting, rebar placement, concrete pouring, and finishing tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and takes pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced construction environment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Assist in all phases of concrete construction, including placement, pouring, leveling, and finishing. Build and set concrete forms to required specifications. Place reinforcing steel and tie rebar or wire mesh. Operate hand tools (floats, screeds, shovels, trowels) and some power tools (saws, compactors, etc.). Monitor weather conditions and help apply curing compounds or protective measures. Perform general labor duties including loading/unloading materials, digging, and site clean-up. Maintain clean and organized work zones and participate in safety meetings and job briefings. Assist with light equipment operation (skid-steers, mini-excavators, etc.), if trained and needed. Follow directions from supervisors and collaborate with other crew members. Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: At least 23 years of experience working with concrete in a commercial, industrial, or civil construction setting. Ability to use a tape measurer and basic construction tools with accuracy. Familiarity with concrete finishing techniques is a plus. Experience reading blueprints or interpreting job specs is a bonus. Able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Required Licenses & Other Miscellaneous Necessities: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Able to work MondayFriday from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM in summer, and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM in winter. Occasional weekend work may be required depending on project deadlines. Capable of passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Physical Requirements: Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and seasonal temperatures. Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Comfortable kneeling, bending, walking, standing, and using hand tools for extended periods. Able to climb ladders and tolerate working at various heights.
