Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

Program Coordination Serves as the primary point of contact for providers, nurses and other support staff for vaccine-related questions Helps develop and maintain SEARHC's immunization policies and procedures Chairs the SEARHC Vaccine Taskforce Ensures providers and nursing staff are informed of CDC vaccine recommendations and are familiar with the vaccine schedules Provides immunization resources and promotional materials for patients and educational materials for providers and nursing staff Vaccine Inventory and Documentation Management Serves as the primary contact for the State of Alaska immunization program staff (VacTrAk, Depot, etc) Coordinates the renewal of and adherence to the State Vaccine Depot provider agreement Works with local pharmacy managers and vaccine coordinators to ensure clinics are meeting state and private vaccine inventory management requirements, including ordering and accounting for vaccine usage in VacTrAK; in coordination with the Pharmacy Director Ensures compliance with State and CDC standards for vaccine storage, handling, and documentation. Acts as a liaison between VacTrAk, SEARHC and ANTHC regarding immunization related EHR documentation and immunization interface Reviews and follows up with VacTrAK error reports, seeks to resolve documentation or immunization interface issues Serves as the SEARHC VacTrAK administrator, including all reporting requirements and facilitation of access for staff Serves as the AVAP coordinator, working with vaccinators and Finance to ensure correct documentation and billing for private vaccines Collaborates with clinical staff to have all current and (relevant) historical immunizations documented in the Cerner EHR. Immunization Promotion Promotes strategies to achieve and exceed GPRA and UDS goals for immunization rates

i.e. reduced missed opportunities, easy access appointments, etc. Compiles and shares immunization coverage levels Facilitates teamwork to promote SEARHC's goal of keeping children on-time for vaccines and promoting full vaccination for teens and adults. Other Functions Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not require supervisory responsibilities. Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor's degree in nursing, Associate degree in nursing or Diploma in nursing) A valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska. Basic Life Support. Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years Experience Required Prior experience is preferred, and with a passion for immunizations Knowledge of Best practices for current immunization recommendations Adverse signs and symptoms and to act promptly in emergency situations. Pharmaceuticals, their desired effects, side effects, and complications in their use. Nursing procedures and basic nursing care. Skills in Oral and written communication Entry and retrieval of patient data accurately Ability to Provide guidance, leadership, and work cooperatively with others Establish and maintain effective and professional interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and other healthcare team members Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move 50 lbs. Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC High Risk Competency - SEARHC Registered Nurse License - State of Alaska - Alaska State Board of Nursing
