Industrial Hygienist
The Industrial Hygienist will work with the WorkWISE NH team to provide New Hampshire employers with consultative services to explain and interpret OSHA standards and industrial hygiene protocols, advise on policy/protocol development, and identify solutions for workplace health hazards. This is a full time, year round, grant funded position. WorkWISE NH provides free, on-site consultative services to eligible employers throughout New Hampshire. Although these services are primarily targeted to small businesses with less than 250 employees, the program welcomes the opportunity to assist employers of any size. Duties/Responsibilities Conducting industrial hygiene assessments, such as air sampling, noise monitoring, and chemical exposure evaluations, to assess and mitigate workplace health risks. These duties include travel to and from employer worksites and facilities. Design, develop, and deliver training regarding safety topics/issues. Provide accurate accounting of issues and remedies and data regarding consultant determinations. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related discipline and at least 3 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene practices. Effective oral and written communications skills to interact and communicate environmental health and safety procedures to small and medium size business in New Hampshire. Ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors, and employees under stressful conditions. Ability to respond promptly and in-person to client locations throughout New Hampshire that require environmental health and safety services. Ability to wear and use appropriate protective equipment as necessary. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of program. Knowledge of laws concerning workplace environmental, health and safety. Preferred Qualifications Masters and 5 years of related experience preferred.
