EHS Manager
Ensures Ebara Elliott Energy EHS standards, processes and procedures are fully implemented. Ensures local legislative requirements are maintained; increases EHS awareness, develops a positive EHS culture and establishes a safe working environment across all operational and non-operational areas. Trains and implements all applicable EHS processes and systems. Background and Experience
Internationally recognized level 3 qualification in OSH or equivalent
(i.e. NEBOSH, IGC, CSP, ASP / Diploma in Industrial Safety) with 5 years full time experience.
Internationally recognized level 3 qualification or equivalent in environmental management with 5 years full time experience.
Certified Investigator
2 years' experience in supporting incident investigations; supports EHS incident and injury reporting.
Able to work in a matrixed environment, influencing and motivating diverse teams to achieve a unified goal. Possesses strong leadership and interpersonal skills; capable of interfacing effectively at all levels as well as organizations outside of Ebara Elliott Energy (customers and regulatory agencies).
Nature of the Job
Provide and monitor adherence to EHS directives, facilitating consistent practices, and driving continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety outcomes.
Interpret and provide EHS advice on current / future legislative requirements such that compliance is maintained at site level.
Develop and provide EHS training and is experienced in supporting the delivery of contemporary behavioral based safety programs.
Interpret technical EHS documents as well as general EHS communications; able to drive a positive EHS culture across the sites.
Ability to explain and monitor environmental policy and legislation, and their implications for the business, its products and services.
Partner with site leadership to control, eliminating and preventing disease or injury caused by physical, chemical and ergonomic factors.
Conduct / assist in the completion of EHS assurance audits and action closure activities for ISO and third-party certifications.
Contact with Others
External service providers including statutory agencies, contractors, and certification bodies.
Communication of confidential compliance matters with internal management teams.
Supervision
Operating as an individual contributor, this position acts as a vital link, offering cross- functional EHS support to site EHS professionals across the assigned region.
Essential
Coaches and influences site leadership, EHS, and workforce performance as it affects EHS issues and drives improvements in line with Group / Region KPIs.
Collates and presents accurate EHS statistical information, identifies hazards and provides general advice on practical risk mitigation measures.
Provides EHS training and has an understanding of contemporary behavioral based safety programs.
Ensures EHS manuals, systems, policies, procedures and programs are utilized and understood by leadership, local EHS, and employees.
Conducts internal EHS audits to ensure the robustness of policies and procedures
able to evaluate all non-conformances to determine the proper path forward.
Supports incident investigations, supports EHS incident and injury reporting.
Ensures formal / informal risk assessments are conducted for all hazardous tasks.
Supports medical surveillance for employees exposed to occupational hazards.
Collect and maintain environmental manifests, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with waste disposal regulations.
Support the sub-regional Safety Teams Program, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Sub-regional representative in partnership with the facility manager and EHS professional for the regional Central Safety Committee
Supports efforts in emergency situations.
Performs any other EHS duties as directed by the business.
