Endoscopy Technician II
The Endoscopy Technician II assists with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or physicians in Endoscopy. The technician assists with assessment of patient needs and follows through with the designated plan of action. The technician is responsible for the care, handling, and processing of endoscopy procedural equipment and turnover of the procedure room(s). This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span, appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs and be able to communicate data reflective of the patient's status. During the selection process you will participate in a virtual (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the virtual interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question
Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps as appropriate. Must meet two of the following criteria: Currently assigned or cross-trained to work in the Phoenix Endoscopy Unit Quality Assurance Auditor Ensure staff are practicing at the highest level of scope cleaning ability Assist unit audits- Polyp tracking, Hand Hygiene etc. Ancillary Practice Support ancillary practices, such as but not inclusive: Small Bowel Capsule; Carbohydrate Breath Tests, Motility Tests Primary Preceptor Assisting with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures such as ERCP, EUS/EBUS, GI bleeds, food bolus and foreign body removal Taking overnight and weekend Endo tech call independently Has 1 year of recent equivalent hospital experience Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Requires 1+ year(s) of GI experience Equivalent healthcare experience may be considered Maintain competency in Endoscopy Technician I Knowledge of multiple electronic applications, including use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and TEAMs Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting Experience performing multiple tasks within a work shift; able to prioritize work including non-patient care tasks Demonstrates positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to support change and innovation. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates initiative and willingness to take accountability for assigned tasks. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Works flexible hours to meet the demands of the work unit Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
