The Enterprise Compliance Advisory & Practices (ECAP) team is accountable for enterprise-level 1LOD compliance procedures, reporting, training, and quality assurance. This role is responsible for supporting business 1LOD Compliance Teams on regulatory obligations and ensuring that front-line activities operate within internal policy and external regulatory frameworks. The Manager of Enterprise Compliance Advisory & Practices will interact with the first line of defense ("1LOD") Business Unit ("BU") Compliance Teams (within the Governance & Control Offices) in several critical areas related to compliance risk management. Drive understanding and clarity on roles and responsibilities between the BU Compliance Team and BU Process Owners. Drive understanding and clarity on roles and responsibilities between the BU Compliance Team and BU Control Management. Drive understanding and clarity on roles and responsibilities between 1LOD and 2LOD Compliance; including Privacy, Conduct and Financial Crimes. Support the BU Compliance Teams on compliance risk related to various enterprise frameworks such as New Product Approval, Regulatory Change Management, Risk and Control Self-Assessment and Issue & Event Management. Support the BU Compliance Teams on compliance risk related to Communications with the Public such as Servicing Communications and Marketing Materials. Draft and maintain consistent enterprise 1LOD compliance standards and procedures. Monitor and report on 1LOD compliance risk metrics across BUs. Perform periodic quality assurance across BU Compliance Teams to drive consistent implementation of standards and procedures. Coordinate with Enterprise Control Management on guidance for control design activities that require compliance risk mitigation elements. Support BU Compliance on areas of emerging compliance risk and approaches to improve necessary controls and practices as appropriate. Required Qualifications: Subject matter expertise of the various laws, rules and regulations applicable to American Express products and services. 3 years prior compliance or legal experience in Consumer Protection, Privacy or Financial Crimes disciplines. Experience designing and implementing compliance controls. Understanding of Compliance Risk Management Programs and other Risk Frameworks. Strong relationship and leadership skills with proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. Ability to exercise good judgment in the development and pursuit of compliant solutions. Excellent written, verbal, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Strong project management skills, ability to lead multiple projects and support multiple priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt easily to frequent change. Bachelor's degree required; Compliance Certifications preferred. Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits.
