Intelligence Operations Specialist
As an Intelligence Operations Specialist (Title 32), GS-0132-11, you will: Perform mission execution in all section activities to include standards and evaluations, qualification training, scheduling, and tactics, techniques, and procedures. Possess knowledge of a wide range of airborne ISR concepts, principles, and practices; and, an in-depth knowledge of specific functional areas of signals intelligence to accomplish work processes through the use of related intelligence systems, mission equipment, methods, services, and facilities. Review, analyze, and resolve difficult and highly complex intelligence problems. Develop briefings for mission preparation, including combat planning, weather factors, mission objectives, and other agency coordination to ensure effective mission execution. Make mission recommendations to operations officer. Develop operations exercises which test the capabilities and proficiency of the crew. Interact with multiple national and defense organizations during the planning process, including MAJCOM, joint commands, and coalition partners. Enable weapon system optimization for intelligence system employment and integration into combat air force operations. Develop and teach advanced warfighter educational lessons to all squadron personnel. Conduct warfighter education to combat mission ready (CMR) personnel. Work closely with the operations training section to expand the recurring training program (classroom and scenario) to increase the crew baseline knowledge. Provide supporting/background information on which to build lesson outlines. Ensure combat readiness and proficiency of airborne ISR operators. Execute the training program for all unit operators including system capabilities, tactics, and employment considerations. Execute a detailed training plan to create certified operators capable of deploying and providing desired ISR capability to combatant commanders. Plan, organize, and instruct academic and hands-on training pertaining to the use of intelligence systems; provide advice on the proper weapons and tactics to enhance execution of the ISR mission. Supervise and execute policy, instructions, and procedures governing the overall management of the training program. Evaluate unit compliance with gaining major command standards and directives. Participate in staff assistance visits (SAVs) and management/compliance inspections. Conduct SAVs to functional and operational areas within the squadron, and upon request, at other units. Prepare local guidance implementing compliance and special emphasis findings for unit standardization/evaluation program. Interpret regulations and provide advice, assistance, and policy guidance to the unit on implementation of higher headquarters (HHQ) directives accordingly. Establish and maintain a self-assessment program for standardization and evaluation functions. Establish evaluator certifications and recurring training policies based on HHQ directives and maintain the evaluator training program. Evaluate training requirements against available simulator and aircraft resources to meet the needs of the unit training program. Coordinate training requirements with external agencies ensuring compatibility and effectiveness goals are aligned with unit training program. Research regulatory guidance to ensure only qualified operators are scheduled for available training scenarios. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Military requirements: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.
