Golf Course Mechanic

Madden's is currently seeking a full-time Golf Course Mechanic. This position performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all golf courses and equipment at The Classic golf course. Grinding reels, daily upkeep of mowers, utility carts, small engines, and larger tractors as well as maintaining a clean shop. Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and perform routine and preventive maintenance on golf course equipment. Troubleshoots, prioritizes and makes repairs to equipment as necessary. Keeps accurate and organized records of maintenance and repairs to all equipment. Maintains a balanced inventory of parts and supplies for the Classic Shop. Knowledge of setting and maintaining a high standard of cutting units it a plus. Grind mower reels in the fall or as needed during the summer. Maintain a neat, clean and organized shop. Clean and maintain all shop equipment to keep it good working order. Advise Superintendent of any expensive repairs needed prior to ordering parts. Assist in training personnel on daily equipment and vehicle inspections. Complete daily chores assigned on job board. Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas. Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Understands and adheres to Madden's Smoking and Tobacco Products policy. Attend training and staff meetings. Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Skills and Abilities
Preferred experience with the operation and maintenance of reel mowers. Keeps current with new production methods, techniques, and materials by work assignment locations. Preferred experience in welding and fabrication. Must be familiar with small engine repair, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines. Follows Madden's "Core Values". Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers. Maintains a proactive "Can-do" attitude. Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experience maintaining and repairing golf course equipment and/or similar type equipment. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment
Work is performed mainly outside on golf courses or in a maintenance shop. Physical Demands
Primarily walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50-pound boxes and sometimes up to 100 pounds. Expected Hours of Work
Monday-Friday 5:30am-1:30pm. Every other Saturday 5:30am-1:30pm with a half day on Friday of the weeks that involve a Saturday. Travel
Less than 10% travel required.
