International Trade Analyst Manager

The Washington, D.C. office of CBIZ is seeking a dynamic Manager to fill an International Trade Analyst position. The analyst will primarily assist in preparing detailed sales data, cost of production data, and other information for respondents in antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) proceedings for submission to the International Trade Administrations Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) unit at the U.S. Department of Commerce, utilizing respondents accounting and operational records. In addition to working with fellow CBIZ team members (managing directors, accountants, and programmer-data analysts), the Manager will work in multi-functional project teams that include international trade attorneys, company executives, and company officials, including financial and managerial accountants, sales professionals, and product specialists. Projects consist of international trade disputes covering industrial and consumer commodities produced overseas for export to the U.S. market. Current projects include Cranes from Japan, Honey from Argentina, Lumber from Canada, and numerous steel products from multiple countries. Qualified individuals will have a BA/BS degree and at least 5 years of work experience in accounting or finance or have a CPA. Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing operations is helpful but not required. Previous work experience in trade remedies either at the U.S. Department of Commerce or as a consultant is also helpful but not required. International and domestic travel are required. Essential Functions and Primary Duties Working with production-oriented and sales-oriented companies to determine what data to extract and report from their financial and cost accounting data systems. Preparing sales and cost reconciliations. Demonstrating the build-up of costs and the allocation of expenses. Researching publicly available financial statements and calculating financial ratios. Working in multi-functional teams to ensure that the information prepared and submitted is in accordance with the local accounting policies and consistent with the reporting requirements of the U.S. Department of Commerce or other government authority. Supporting companies in on-site verifications conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce or other government authority. Performing other duties as required. International and domestic travel are required. Preferred Qualifications BA/BS Degree At least 5 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance or have a CPA Knowledge of Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Operations in helpful, but not required Previous work experience in Trade Remedies either at the U.S. Department of Commerce or as a Consultant is also helpful, but not required Natural curiosity and healthy skepticism. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Consistent in producing quality work and paying attention to detail. Ability to work with detailed information accurately and efficiently. Willing to accept ownership of projects and drive them, along with daily tasks, to a successful conclusion. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact with people of various nationalities and educational backgrounds in a manner that shows respect, sensitivity, tact, and professionalism and allows for relationship building. Conducts him/herself professionally in appearance and actions. Sets a positive example and supports a collegial and collaborative work environment. Responsive and sensitive to internal and external deadlines. Able to set priorities and handle multiple tasks under pressure. Able to adjust and adapt quickly to changing situations. Flexible and dependable with the ability to work overtime as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field 3 years supervisory experience Must have active CPA or equivalent certification Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally Must be able to travel based on client and business needs Proficient use of applicable technology The annual salary target for this job in this market is $110,000 - $150,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position. The compensation above is not representative of an employees total compensation.
