Cabling And Infrastructure Technician
Join our team as a Cabling and Infrastructure Technician, where you will play a key role in installing and maintaining structured cabling, supporting workstation moves, and ensuring seamless connectivity across our facilities. We are looking for a skilled technician with expertise in cable termination, system relocation, and infrastructure maintenance. This position is fully on-site. Responsibilities include: Install, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat 5, Cat 6, fiber optic). Support workstation moves and system relocations, ensuring proper cabling and connectivity. Perform troubleshooting and repair of network cabling issues. Maintain and organize cable pathways, racks, and labeling standards. Work with network and IT teams to ensure proper infrastructure setup. Ensure adherence to industry best practices, company and agency policies, and regulatory requirements. Create and maintain thorough documentation of plans, system configurations, and operational processes and procedures. Required Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 to 10 years of related experience Experience with structured cabling installation and maintenance. Proficiency in terminating and testing Cat 5, Cat 6, and fiber optic cables. Ability to support workstation relocations, including system setup and cabling adjustments. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing connectivity and cabling issues. Knowledge of cable management best practices. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. Must be able to obtain and maintain a (CI) Scope Polygraph within 180 days of hire. CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent baseline security certification. U.S. Citizenship Required. Preferred Qualifications: Industry certifications (BICSI, RCDD, or equivalent). Familiarity with data center cabling and enterprise infrastructure setups. Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ANSI, IEEE). Understanding of network infrastructure components such as patch panels and switches. CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent baseline security certification. Active TS//SCI clearance with a current CI Scope Polygraph.
