Water Treatment Operator Intern

to join our team in

El Segundo, CA . In this role, you'll provide support with field data collection, monitoring, and data analysis for the Operations Department. You'll gain exposure to the tasks of the Operations department through hands-on work that may involve performing rounds, collecting samples, and monitoring processes. Nature & Scope

Here's what you'll need Access to a personal vehicle needed for travel to and from offsite facilities as needed Possess proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Must possess a valid CA Driver's license with no major infractions Ideally, you'll also have: High School Diploma or equivalent is required The desired candidate should be a sophomore in a local vocational school or college/university within the service area of the project, preferably Previous work experience desired Experience in a laboratory setting a plus Basic understanding of water, wastewater, and/or water recycling treatment processes a plus Possess effective communication skills in both written and oral format Be comfortable performing analyses and data collection in an industrial-type setting Working Conditions & Physical Requirements The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
