CYO Assistant Athletic Administrator

Develop and support a culture in CYO that animates the mission and values of Catholic Charities throughout all operations of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Implement CYO athletic programs with primary responsibilities of governance, administration, finance, program management and Member services according to the CYO Charter and Bylaws. Ensure that CYO programs animate the mission and values of Catholic Charities, CYO and the Diocese of Cleveland. Develop and implement procedures that apply the CYO Charter and Bylaws into all program operations. Develop and implement effective administrative procedures for all CYO programs. Follow Catholic Charities system policies and administrative procedures in CYO. With direction, coordinate the recruitment, training, and administration of CYO contest site staff as needed, including commissioners, scorers, timers and site directors. With direction, coordinate CYO event site policies and protocols with CYO site personnel. With direction, administrate the use of Arbiter software for assigning and paying contest officials and assigners. With direction, implement CYO Incident Management system with the Membership & Communication Coordinator. With direction, organize and coordinate CYO Tournament Administration and Operations, including scheduling, sanctioned events and financial administration. Examine, analyze, and evaluate CYO program operations to identify goals for continuous growth and improvement. With direction, implement policies and protocols of Catholic Charities Risk Management Office pertaining to CYO. Work to form effective partnerships with Member leadership, Catholic Charities, and families to further the mission, values, and strategic priorities of all parties. Perform other duties as necessary or assigned to accomplish CYO and Catholic Charities priorities and objectives. Normal office environment; Travel throughout service area required; Frequent sitting, talking, active listening/hearing for interactions with staff, clients, coaches, parents, volunteers and performing computer based tasks at desk; Occasional standing and walking as required for long periods at events; Reading, writing and finger dexterity to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, website, computer and files required on a frequent basis; Tasks require visual perception and discrimination for financial and material gifts and donations; Color distinction to produce visual website content on a frequent basis; Organizing and coordinating schedules; along with tracking donations; Analyzing and interpreting data for required reports; Communicating with the public; Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone. Combination of education and experience normally represented by an undergraduate degree in Sports Management, Human Services, Public or Business Administration, Pastoral Ministry or a related field. Five to seven years of fiscal, administrative and management experience in a faith based athletics program. Must have a current awareness and understanding of Catholic Church teachings related to family life and the ability to educate others about the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church in CYO. Must have good communication skills and an ability to relate to a wide variety of persons and organizations. Must have the ability to effectively manage competing tasks, priorities and resources in a timely manner. Must have good interpersonal communication skills. Must have the ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Must be able to work on evenings and weekends to achieve CYO and Catholic Charities goals as needed. Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software and the ability to work in Arbiter software. Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted and to complete a background check.
