Network Operations Technician
Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated Network Operations Technician to join the Infrastructure Deployment Services (IDS) team in Littleton, CO. As a key member of the West Region Network Operations team, you will support enterprise-wide networking services across Lockheed Martin's Business Areas (BA) and the Enterprise IT organization. In this role, you will serve as a primary technical resource responsible for the implementation, sustainment, remediation, and support of secure LAN infrastructure. This includes corporate, classified, program-specific, and voice networks. You will work hands-on with network technologies such as routers, switches, wireless systems, and firewalls, ensuring compliance with IT policies, audit standards, and customer regulations. You will provide direct technical support for the campus LAN at the Waterton site, working closely with the site lead to perform daily operations, assist with hardware refresh projects, and troubleshoot connectivity issues. This position plays a critical role in upholding enterprise network standards and maintaining a secure, reliable, and scalable network environment. Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Troubleshooting - Resolve break/fix issues related to network hardware, connectivity, and performance. Hardware Refresh & Deployment - Support planning, staging, installation, and decommissioning of network hardware as part of refresh cycles or infrastructure upgrades. LAN Configuration Support - Assist in implementing campus LAN solutions aligned with enterprise standards and site-specific requirements. Standards Compliance - Help maintain LAN documentation and monitor compliance with engineering standards. Security Alignment - Collaborate with network security teams to ensure configurations meet Lockheed Martin security policies and best practices. Project Participation - Contribute to infrastructure project tasks including testing, documentation, and change implementation. Team Collaboration - Actively participate in team meetings, working groups, and cross-functional coordination efforts to support smooth delivery of services Basic Qualifications
Three to five years hands-on experience with switching and routing technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP, OSPF, EIGRP). Demonstrated troubleshooting and fault isolation skills in an enterprise network environment. Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible). Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and secure network practices. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a dynamic environment. Desired Skills
Progress toward certifications such as CCNA or CCNP. Experience supporting firewalls, VPNs, and isolated networks. Exposure to Software Defined Networking (SDN) and cloud-based network architectures. Proficiency with network performance and monitoring tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
