Volunteer Services/Community Partnership Coordinator I

The Volunteer Services/Community Partnership Coordinator I will provide operational support for the Community Partnership and Outreach & Engagement Teams and coordinate the activities of the Divisions Event Team. Examples of Important Duties

The Volunteer Services/Community Partnership Coordinator I responsibilities include: Coordinating assignments and tasks of Event Team members for Department events and ceremonies in accordance with Department guidelines. Ensuring completion of event after-action items. Maintaining inventory and log of equipment and materials for events, ceremonies, and community outreach and engagement activities. Working as an active member of the Outreach & Engagement Team. Receiving requests from the community and coordinating the calendar assignments of the Outreach & Engagement Team members for information tables throughout the county. Ensuring the availability of current Department information and materials for Department offices and facilities, the Commission and other government and community organizations. Maintaining the Community Engagement Database, ensuring accuracy of entries and timely communication with organization contacts in the database. Other duties assigned by the manager and/or Division Chief. This position will frequently work evenings, weekends, and at outdoor events year-round. A successful candidate must be able to drive Commission vehicle and be able to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distance. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Relations, Communications, Natural Sciences, Recreation, Park Administration or any related field. One (1) year of experience in program administration, project management or volunteer management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total five (5) years. Valid drivers license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Drivers license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employees ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required of their position. Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in community engagement, program administration, event planning, or volunteer management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total five (5) years.
