Space Capabilities Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Job Title: Space Capabilities Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Norfolk, VA The candidate will have the following areas of responsibility: Develop a NATO Interface Model for Commercial Engagement; to include conducting landscape assessments for commercial space engagement and developing an operational playbook. Benchmark Commercial Integration Cell best practices. Develop protocols and templates for integrating commercial space capabilities. Develop a continuity model for commercial services in all operational phases. Identify threats to commercial space assets, including cyber-attacks, jamming, spoofing, kinetic threats, and orbital congestion. Recommend a framework for joint threat exercises, including red-teaming or joint cyber-defense simulations with commercial partners. Support the development of an Initial Space Threat Assessment. Identify and prioritize scenarios to be addressed through a Threat Response Playbook. Develop a pilot threat response playbook for a space threat scenario. Support the development of operational requirements for space effects. Translate strategic guidance into operational needs. Provide support on cross-domain integration of space capabilities. Other duties as directed Required Qualifications: Minimum of 6 years in one or more of the following space disciplines: space policy, space deterrence, operational planning, NATO strategic engagement, multi-domain integration, space effects planning, defense policy alignment, satellite manufacturing, launch services, space-based ISR, command and control (C2) architecture. Proficient in English as defined in STANAG 6001 Proficient in Microsoft Office Tool suite and collaborative software Required Education/Certification: Active Secret or higher-level clearance University bachelor's degree in science or management. 5 extra years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree. * Position contingent on contract award* All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard for race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
