Staff Auditor I

The Staff Auditor I will perform and assist with compliance and operational auditing work of minimum difficulty of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe enterprises and government operations, and perform special projects as required or assigned. Principle Duties and Responsibilities

The principle duties and responsibilities include: Conduct internal audits and special projects as assigned; Ensure reliability and integrity of data accuracy to support the work performed as well as conclusions reached; Identify causes of problems and assist in developing recommendations for changes; Document assigned electronic work papers; Perform necessary research in support of the review as requested/required; Participate in the design and use of audit procedures for the engagement. Prepare, update audit program, and internal control questionnaire as needed. Develop recommendations to address audit findings; Assist in preparing audit reports to document findings; and Perform other duties of a similar nature as requested. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of: Business operations and structure; Accounting concepts and methods; Tribal government structure and operations; Techniques and tests involved in conducting audits; Familiarity with grant administration and grant management; Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn. Willingness to learn and become proficient: Requirements set forth in The IIA's International Professional Practices Framework (IPPFs) and Standards; Serve as a Partner to the PYT Community and its Divisions; The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) Internal Control Framework and Concepts--2013. Techniques and testing methodologies required in conducting audits. Skills and Abilities: Analyze data and records; Effective writing communications; Effective oral and written communications (including conducting oral presentations); Problem-solving; Plan and project management; Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel; Work independently as well as in a team environment; Ability to think and act as a process owner; Capable of collaborating with fellow ASD team members and Auditees; Exercise strict discretion regarding confidential information; Stay current with audit standards and issues; Handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines; Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications; Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Can sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions. Education, Certifications and Experience Required

Associate degree plus two (2) years of work-related experience in an audit-related position or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above and as follows: Willing to work towards earning an Internal Audit Practioner (IAP) Certification within three years (36 months) from the date of joining ASD; Tribal government structure and operations; Yaqui culture, customs, resources, and traditions, and/or a willingness to learn. AND: Must sign and abide by Audit Services Department's: Conflict of Interest, as well as Code of Conduct and Ethics. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word and Excel); Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License; This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends; Must be eligible to apply and receive a State of Arizona Gaming License if necessary to support Tribal Enterprise auditing efforts. Special Requirements

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word and Excel); Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License; This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends; Must be eligible to apply and receive a State of Arizona Gaming License if necessary to support Tribal Enterprise auditing efforts.
