Tooling Design Engineer
Location: Columbus, GA Benefits: 401(k), 401(k) matching, Relocation bonus On-site Key Responsibilities
Design fixtures, gages, and tooling to support the manufacturing process for aerospace hardware. Utilize Siemens NX to create tooling designs and blueprints. Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team on project development and investigations related to tooling. Assess tooling builds for internal production or outsourcing to tooling vendors; interact with tooling vendors as needed. Work closely with the manufacturing engineering team to incorporate design changes or specifications. Process Improvement
Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, adhering to safe work practices. Implement measures to reduce costs, enhance quality, and increase throughput for both new and existing processes. Maintain tooling blueprint storage location in compliance with customer policies and procedures. Support and Collaboration
Provide support on the shop floor. Assist in the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or quality environment; or an Associate's degree and 4 or more years of experience in such fields; or in lieu of a degree, 6 or more years of relevant experience. Proven experience in cross-functional project work. Proficiency in 3D modeling/drafting software, with preference given to experience with Siemens NX. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). U.S. citizenship is required, as access to information under this program/contract is restricted to U.S. citizens. Experience with Siemens NX, ASME Y14.5, GD&T, Machining fixtures, inspection fixtures, Designing machining tools Additive Manufacturing experience (preferred) Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred. 2 or more years of experience as a tool designer. Ability to apply and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Green Belt Certified. Compensation: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
