Military Trainer / Principal Military Trainer - MSEL Planner
Serco is seeking a Military Trainer / Principal Military Trainer - MSEL Planner to support joint training events at the Joint Staff J7 in Suffolk, Virginia. This position supports collective joint training and mission rehearsal exercises through the development and management of Master Scenario Events Lists (MSELs), contributing directly to the readiness and effectiveness of the joint force. This role serves on the Joint Exercise Support Team (JEST) and coordinates MSEL products across all phases of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC). In this role, you will: Develop and coordinate MSEL products including the MSEL Matrix, database entries, briefings, storylines, and scripted events. Facilitate MSEL synchronization events and provide SME input during planning and execution. Lead MSEL operations during exercises, serving as the MSEL Manager to the Exercise Director and Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG). Deliver MSEL training to Joint Exercise Control Group members. Support planning conferences and participate in training event execution throughout the JELC. Qualifications for Military Trainer - MSEL Planner: High school diploma with at least 7 years of professional leadership experience; or Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience; or Master's degree with 1 year of experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DoD civilian equivalent. Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI. Valid U.S. Passport and ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS (up to 25%). Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, Virginia. Skilled in organizing and completing assignments with clarity and professionalism. Qualifications for Principal Military Trainer - MSEL Planner: High school diploma with at least 10 years of professional leadership experience; or Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of experience. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DoD civilian equivalent. Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI. Valid U.S. Passport and ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS (up to 25%). Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, Virginia. To be successful in this role, you will have: Strong planning and coordination skills. Experience in military training environments and scenario development. Proficiency in delivering clear and concise exercise documentation. Additional desired experience and skills: At least 3 years of experience in the joint or service planning process. Active TS/SCI clearance. Working knowledge of JTIMS JMSEL and Legacy JMSEL systems. Experience with Joint Staff J7 exercises or events.
