DevOps Tools Support Engineer
This critical role in Digital Technology is an exciting opportunity to join our growing DevOps and Classified Engineering Solutions organization as a DevOps Tools Support Engineer. The primary responsibility for this position is to design, implement and support DevOps solutions for our key programs. You will develop, refine, and shape the future technology infrastructure that will allow our Engineers to bring innovative solutions to our customer with greater speed and efficiency! This position is an onsite role based in Woburn, Massachusetts. What you will do: Tool Maintenance & System Reliability: Ensuring that all DevOps tools and platforms are functioning correctly, including regular updates, patches, and troubleshooting any issues that arise; developing and validating fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans for tool infrastructure. User Support: Providing technical support to developers, IT operations, and other stakeholders who use the DevOps tools. This includes responding to support tickets, diagnosing problems, and offering solutions. Incident Management: Monitoring systems for issues and responding to incidents promptly to minimize impact on the software development lifecycle. This involves root cause analysis and implementing fixes. Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for the use and troubleshooting of DevOps tools. This ensures users can find solutions quickly and understand how to effectively use the tools. Training: Conducting training sessions and creating training materials to help team members understand how to use DevOps tools efficiently and effectively. Integration Support: Assisting with the integration of new tools into the existing DevOps pipeline, ensuring compatibility and smooth operation within the broader infrastructure. Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitoring the performance of DevOps tools and systems to ensure they meet the required standards and making adjustments as necessary to improve efficiency and reliability. Customization: Support software tool customization and automation including development of templates, dashboards and scripts to support program needs. Qualifications you must have: Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience System administration experience in Linux based systems Experience installing and supporting server-based DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, BitBucket, GitLab, Confluence, Coverity, Jenkins, IBM Rational products, and Microsoft Azure DevOps Server Experience working with development teams using Agile concepts and methodologies The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications we prefer: Active and current Secret Clearance Experience with legacy source code tools like ClearCase, Synergy, SVN Experience with container technology (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu) Experience/familiarity with systems and software engineering tools such as MATLAB, Visual Studio, VxWorks/Windriver, QT, BigLever Gears, Python, and DOORS Experience and familiarity with relational databases and ability to support/troubleshoot data backup, verification and validation activities for server-based tools and solutions (Oracle, SQL Server, InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) System administration experience in Windows Experience working in the Aerospace and Defense industry
