Histology Technician Opportunity
Seeking a detail-oriented Histology Technician to join a large and well-established laboratory team specializing in histopathology. This direct hire/permanent position is ideal for those who enjoy hands-on tissue processing and are ready to work in a collaborative, mission-driven lab environment. About the Role:
Youll report to the Section Technical Lead and Department Manager and play a vital role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic analysis. Responsibilities focus primarily on cutting and embedding, with potential for special stains depending on your experience. What Youll Do:
Process fixed and frozen tissue specimens following established protocols Cut, embed, and prepare slides for microscopic analysis Assist with grossing and autopsy specimen support as needed Prepare and maintain lab reagents and solutions Maintain equipment and perform routine documentation and quality control Occasionally instruct students or new staff in histology techniques Schedule & Team Structure:
Set Shifts: Day Shift (MF)
Includes approx. 1 Saturday/month (with a weekday off) Evening Shift (MF) Night Shift (SunThurs or MonFri) No on-call Holidays not routinely scheduled; paid at time-and-a-half when worked Team Size: 22 Histology Techs, 7 Lab Assistants Qualifications:
Associates degree in a science-related field (Bachelors preferred) Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology program required within 1 year of hire ASCP Histotechnician (HT) Certification required within 1 year No experience required; training provided Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow protocols precisely
