Disaster Preparedness Technician

Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking a Disaster Preparedness Technician to support our Global Disaster Relief programs. Based in Grand Prairie, TX, this role is responsible for managing logistics, inventory, and equipment readiness, as well as supporting product reception and distribution. The technician plays a vital role in preparing for on-site volunteer events and community outreach initiatives, including Local Hunger Relief efforts. This position also contributes to disaster preparedness at multiple locations and provides hands-on logistical support during response deployments, including equipment convoying and site mobilization. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to OB's Biblical mission to extend a helping hand in Christ's name to meet physical and spiritual needs. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Knowledge of warehouse operations, equipment and inventory systems Experience leading, training, and coaching large teams in challenging, rapidly changing environments Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task Strong leadership abilities, capable of motivating a volunteer team and ensuring project completion Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English is required. Additional languages is a plus Excellent logistical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with inventory/transportation software. Skilled in the use of the Global Disaster Relief team's Fleet Maintenance program (currently Fleetio) Excellent ability to make sound decisions under pressure, staying calm during crises. Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal infrastructure in challenging situations. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to establish professional rapport with all levels of management, staff, and public Ability to travel, sometimes with 24-hour notice or less, to disaster zones to assist with equipment delivery/or de-mobilization Strong mental and emotional resilience and ability to cope with stress in conflict zones Cultural awareness and sensitivity for working with local communities in disaster zones Ability to work in austere conditions, such as lack of running water, electricity, and challenging living arrangements Physical fitness and stamina for long, physically demanding hours and extreme climates Strong manual dexterity with ability to stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 75 lbs or more Ability to purchase items with department purchasing cards as needed Valid driver's license with clean driving record Current forklift certification (or ability to obtain and maintain) Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or willingness and ability to obtain Demonstrated life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with OB's nonprofit Christian mission Operation Blessing (OB) is a non-profit humanitarian organization that provides strategic relief on an ongoing basis through core programs such as hunger relief, medical care, clean water, and disaster relief.
