Job title: Cook/Food Service Worker Location: Crest View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - New Lisbon, WI Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; 16 hours a week from 10:00am to 6:30pm and 24 hours a week from 11:00am to 7:30pm. Weekend rotation: Every other weekend Holiday rotation: Every other holiday Position Summary

The Cook/Baker position prepares and cooks food in accordance with Blueprint menus and required dietary restrictions, cooking in large amounts. This is performed to feed residents who live or stay in the facility. The Food Service Worker position helps prepare and serve nutritious and appetizing meals, drinks, snacks, and desserts to provide a healthy and positive dining experience to residents and their guests. The role performs routine food service tasks under general supervision or instructions in a food production and/or customer service area and washes and cleans equipment as assigned. Position Responsibilities

Cook/Baker:

Ensure that areas are set up properly for lunch/dinner and serve food and drinks to residents in the dining room and on meal trays. Prepare food for breakfast and food for lunch for residents and guests. Clean the kitchen and dining area and wash dishes. Clean prep area, wipe down appliances, recalibrate thermometers, and empty garbage. Put product away that has been delivered by truck. Portion food in compliance with nursing home and elder nutrition program standards. Prepare ready food items for pick up for the nutrition center. Perform other duties as requested.

Food Service Worker:

Transports food or supplies to serving areas; ensures that areas are properly set up; assembles and replenishes food, supplies, and equipment as required; ensures proper temperature of food in steam tables and correct counter display; stock halls, takes orders, portions, and serves food to customers; records portions served according to procedure; removes, covers, wraps, labels, stores, rotates, and discards food and condiments as directed. Clears soiled dishes and refuse from trays; scrapes refuse into garbage containers; loads trays and soiled dishes on conveyers, racks, and carts; removes and disposes of trash; sets up and operates dishwasher. Cleans assigned area following proper sanitary procedures, to include equipment, counters, work and dining tables, chairs, refrigerators, utensils, and dispensers; sweeps and mops floors. Ensures all supplies, materials, and equipment are available in assigned work areas for proper performance of duties; maintains replenishment as necessary; prepares supplies and materials as required; reports equipment malfunctions; reports need to repair equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of related work experience required. Always Food Safe certification highly recommended. Experience working in the healthcare industry a plus. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Intermediate proficiency with computers required. Ability to read and follow large-scale recipes and instructions. Understanding of commercial kitchen equipment. Understanding of sanitation regulations and various dietary needs. Ability to operate various cooking equipment (and meet state age requirement for operating equipment as warranted). Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
