Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (WPHW) is growing, and we are excited to add new people to our team! WPHW is a non-profit organization that serves four federally recognized tribes located in five communities: the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Aroostook Band of Mi'kmaq, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and the Penobscot Nation. Wabanaki traditions, language, and culture guide our approach and describe the ways we live in harmony with each other and the land we collectively share. Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the State of Maine. Position Summary: The Senior Director for the Center for Wabanaki Healing and Recovery (WHR) is an upper-level leader providing guidance and direction to all WHR locations, staff, and clients. This position is responsible for organizational culture in the various Recovery Center locations, including the center's inclusion of indigenous values, programmatic outreach, and community integration. The Senior Director sets the tone for a whole-person recovery experience rooted in a healing community and participant-center recovery planning. The Senior Director works with the Co-CEOs in developing long-term strategy for recovery program expansion and operations. This position will ultimately be responsible for the quality of core coaching services delivered in each location. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for providing day-to-day administration and supervision of all program services and activities and staff assigned to program. Creates and enhances a healing culture based on the organization's mission, values, and philosophy of recovery, policies, procedures, position expectations, and performance goals. Plans and coordinates the implementation of programming at all centers. Supervises all Center Directors, as other staff as needed. Visits program sites and centers to obtain first-hand review of operations and results to ensure effective management control. Ensures appropriate documentation and associated compliance measures are in place and being met for program activities and are in accordance with organizational policy. Ensures excellent communication amongst all staff within Center and actively engages with Co-CEOs and fellow Senior Leaders to ensure Centers needs are met. Works collaboratively with Co-CEOs to develop Center strategic plan, direction, and long-term strategy for healing & recovery program expansion and operations. Responsible for participating in the development of center budgets and ensuring budget compliance in purchasing and other expenditures. Responsible for developing and achieving clearly defined program goals and objectives, in accordance with funder and agency guidelines and requirements. Identifies, establishes and maintains professional and supportive relationships with all program's participants, referring partners and community agencies, treatment providers, and others involved in the lives of those suffering with SUD. Represents and presents at meetings and conferences in a manner consistent with organizational values. Participates in and leads special projects, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Health Administration or Management, Hospital Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or other Health Care Management related field. Six (6) years of administrative experience in the management and supervision of various departments in a hospital or other health care facility. Clinical experience strongly preferred. Experience working with Tribal Communities strongly preferred. Skills and Qualifications Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Reliable with strong time management skills. Demonstrated Computer/Technology Competency. Remains accountable to team and requires the same of all staff. Participates effectively in group and collaborates positively with other team members. Provides and receives constructive feedback well and often. Maintains composure even while under great pressure and able to handle complex problems and change with minimal supervision. Collects, organizes, and analyzes large amounts of information before making decisions while seeking input from staff, other organizational leaders and stakeholders. Always maintains confidentiality and appropriate boundaries while modeling high ethical standards. Able to be in person at office location(s), as indicated and able to travel in and out of state overnights for organizational meetings, trainings, recovery grant meetings, programmatic gatherings, and events. Any license, credential or certification required for position is active and in good standing. Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to be insurable under the Agency's automobile insurance plan at the standard rate. Able to be flexible with work schedule; working nights and weekend to accomplish goals, as needed. Must pass criminal background check.
