Module Process Equipment Engineer
At Meta Reality Labs, we are developing the future of Wearables and Mixed Reality products. This team focuses on developing display and optics technologies for Meta products, creating see-through display systems that seamlessly blend the real and virtual realms. We work across designing architecture, display sub-systems for AR glasses, developing and implementing test, characterization, metrology, and data solutions to support transparent display systems. Module Process Equipment Engineer Responsibilities: Lead module equipment development - equipment architecture, equipment specification, and oversee 3rd party equipment design Design for Manufacturability - Ensure the product design is compatible with the process equipment and the equipment and process are scalable to ramp Review equipment concepts, designs, module drawings, fixtures and jigs Perform FMEA/Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for new equipment and process technologies and provide risk assessments Define and implement rigorous equipment validation plan, CTQs, FAT/SAT, and standards Organize and drive cross-functional reviews of equipment/process requirements and ultimately drive design optimization Prepare Request for Information/Proposal/Quotations that highlights the equipment requirements and specifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Optics Engineering or equivalent experience Experience directing assembly equipment development efforts at contract manufacturers and equipment vendors 2+ years of experience in the development of module assembly equipment integration in precision or Optical Assembly for consumer electronics Track-record of delivering high volume products to the market Experience with automation technologies for precision assembly processes and how to specify automation for high volume production of precision modules to meet UPH and performance targets Experience specifying and performing equipment qualifications, such as FAT, SAT, Line Bring-Up, Gauge R&R, etc Experience leading communications with cross-functional partners Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing active alignment processes and equipment to optimize optical parameters such as MTF, boresight, uniformity, etc Experience with automatic optical inspection equipment Knowledge of calculating MTF, measuring boresight, and correlating optical measurements across multiple tools Experience developing optical calibration procedures for assembly equipment Experience developing and reviewing equipment maintenance and service plans Willingness to travel at least 20% $111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
