Immunohematology Reference Laboratory Supervisor
Seattle, Washington $103,463.70164,852.00 a year Provide leadership in the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory. Supervise departmental staff, assure management of departmental projects and participate in interdepartmental projects according to established priorities and timelines. Coordinate quality review and management of errors, error correction, corrective actions, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) revisions and validations associated with IRL projects. Provide technical expertise in IRL testing and in the development and implementation of new methods and as needed, perform clinical laboratory testing. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory team in daily operations and projects Supervise departmental staff and ensure adherence to project timelines and priorities Coordinate quality review and management of errors, error correction, and corrective actions Revise and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with IRL projects Provide technical expertise in IRL testing and assist in the development of new methods Perform clinical laboratory testing when needed Qualifications and Skills:
Must qualify as General Supervisor, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA personnel requirements found in Subpart M of the Code of Federal Regulations. Certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) is required. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is preferred. A minimum of five years laboratory technical experience with at least two years experience in immunohematology reference testing is required (or equivalent combination of education and experience) A minimum of three years of laboratory supervisor or Lead experience is preferred.
