The City of Richland, located in Richland, WA, is offering a full-time regular position with a salary range of $29.36 to $40.46 per hour. This position is within the Benton County Emergency Services department. The Southeast Communications Center (SECOMM) serves as the 911 center for Benton and Franklin Counties in Eastern Washington, providing dispatch services to law enforcement, fire/EMS, and emergency response agencies. SECOMM handles approximately 28,000 calls per month. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of customer service experience, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook and Word, and data-entry skills with speed and accuracy. Licenses, certifications, and other requirements include obtaining and maintaining ACCESS Level I or II certification, CPR, and Emergency Medical Dispatch certifications within one year of hire date. Desirable qualifications include prior experience in a fast-paced and multi-tasked public contact environment, knowledge of Benton and Franklin County streets, excellent oral communication skills, and demonstrated background providing excellent customer service. The recruitment process includes a comprehensive background/reference process, job suitability assessment, fingerprinting, polygraph, psychological evaluation, and a pre-employment medical exam (including drug/alcohol screening).
