Assistant Bursar

Frostburg State University (FSU), Billing Office seeks applications for a full-time, in-person, exempt Assistant Bursar. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package, which is comprised of annual, personal, and sick leave, holidays, tuition remission, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement plans. Responsibilities: Directly supervise 3 employees and supervise an additional 4 employees when the Bursar is unavailable. Process information to R*Stars and Workday form the Billing Office and Transact online payment system. Serves as back-up for collections processes. Processes charges and adjustments on student accounts. Records customer payments in Workday. Posts interagency transfers to student and corporate accounts. Process student refund checks and direct deposit files for bank processing. Works with third party vendor to update cash register system and to resolve any issues. Reconciles monthly petty cash fund for change for cash registers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting and 1-3 years professional and supervisory experience. Excellent quantitative and analytic skills, writing and communication skills and demonstrate organization and leadership skills. Ability to perform a high degree of diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, and MS Office suite.
