This position is based out of our Agoura Hills, CA office. Responsibilities This position will ramp up to perform various operational responsibilities ranging from underwriting, risk management, merchant support, merchant onboarding and administrative tasks on an as-needed basis. Audit merchant applications and agreements for completeness. Help our underwriters with reviewing new merchant processing applications and assess risk by evaluating merchant industry type, transaction volume, average ticket, delivery timeframe, card present, card not present and other factors during the new merchant onboarding process and make confident decisions and recommendations accordingly. Conduct TIN, MATCH, Credit, KYC and other assessments as needed during the merchant underwriting process. On-board merchants by creating their profiles, issuing merchant ID numbers and setting up processing parameters within our payment platforms. Spot trends in monitoring and reporting of individual merchant processing data as well as the overall merchant portfolio. Monitor merchant account transaction, batch and authorization volume and analyze for potential high risk and/or fraudulent activity. Investigate the processing volume, chargebacks, refunds, and fraud on merchant accounts that have exceeded the parameters set by our risk management team and make real time decisions to potentially increase or decrease exposures and reserves. Review and analyze financial records such as invoices, balance sheets, bank statements and processing statements to spot risks and related trends. Communicate with merchants as needed to verify activity observed through transaction and batch review as well as collect any documentation that may be necessary. Review incoming chargebacks and assist merchants with filing rebuttals. Maintain and review current financial risk information on existing accounts. Ensure our internal processes and procedures are up to date. Stay informed on industry trends pertaining to merchant services underwriting, fraud, and risk. Assist merchants with support related inquiries (technical & non-technical). Perform any other tasks assigned by management on an as-needed basis. Experience And Qualifications BS/BA degree is preferred or combination of related work experience and education. Merchant services experience a plus but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, customer orientation, team interaction, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills required. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) Pay Rate We offer a competitive starting base salary of $69,000 - $85,000 per year plus discretionary bonus The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
