Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant
A Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant supports breastfeeding initiatives, monitors patient progress, and adheres to evidence-based lactation practices. Working under minimal supervision, this role manages projects and processes within the lactation consulting group and provides counsel to the organization on breastfeeding support. Responsibilities include: Reviewing breastfeeding support plans to ensure alignment with maternal and infant needs. Preparing educational materials to enhance breastfeeding outcomes. Applying knowledge of lactation techniques to serve as a resource and support staff and families. Seeking guidance from senior management as needed to ensure effective lactation support programs. Managing projects within the lactation group to support overall success in breastfeeding initiatives and family-centered care. Performing other duties as assigned. Education: Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Experience: Required: 1 year of experience in breastfeeding/lactation support; For NICU placement, 2 years of experience in breastfeeding/lactation support with NICU or pediatric experience in a hospital setting is required.
