About This Opportunity
Plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the programs priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In absence of the Program Coordinator, may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all program members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army. Key Responsibilities: Promotes and stimulates program participation. Assists with registration of new members and participates in their club orientation process. Provides guidance and role modeling to members. The Driver is responsible for safely transporting program members and staff to or from school, activities or programs as approved by the Site Director or Branch Manager, and is responsible for the proper reporting of maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs of the assigned vehicle. Implements and administers programs, services and activities for program members in an effective manner. May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of Year programs or Youth of the Month. Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to deal comfortably with stressful situations and follow emergency procedures. Ability to multi-task, ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manners. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis. What We Are Looking For In You:
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred AND Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II & Level III Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of program training. Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid driver's license and a clear driving record
REQUIRED . If required, may have to possess a CDL level license.
