Norton Rose Fulbright has an immediate need for a Practice Assistant to support the Intellectual Property team. This support position is responsible for a variety of patent-related tasks, helping to prepare, prosecute, and maintain patents for a wide range of technologies and companies throughout the world. The ideal candidate is focused on customer satisfaction, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, is a team player who takes pride in their work, and can adapt to meet deadlines. The Intellectual Property Practice Assistant is a valued member of a dynamic team, with potential for career advancement. Responsibilities include supporting paralegals and attorneys to meet and exceed client expectations by, for example: Assisting paralegals with correspondence to clients regarding actions received from US and foreign patent offices Coordinating with clients, attorneys, and paralegals regarding the filing of actions with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Preparing and filing of formal documents, Information Disclosure Statements, and response templates Providing client support for patent portfolio management, including accommodating client-specific reporting guidelines and responding to client requests Developing knowledge of domestic and foreign patent laws to assist paralegals and attorneys with drafting legal documents Filing electronic correspondence within internal document management program Other duties Please note this job description does not cover or contain all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
