Machine Operator / Machinist
The Machine Operator / Machinist set up, maintain and operate machinery. Role and Responsibilities
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
Test operation of machines periodically
Fix issues that might occur during the shift
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Maintain activity logs
Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice
All other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a skilled trades field preferred
Must be able to speak, read, and write English
The ability to stand up for 8 - 10 hours a day required
Overtime opportunities possible
All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
The ability to pass a drug test and background check
Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
Must be age 18 or older
Must be eligible to work in the United States
5 or more years of relevant/related work experience PREFERRED/DESIRED:
Millwright or Electrician certificate
Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
Proficient with the use of shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders and welders
The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects
The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other
The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other
