Program Administrator, Graduate Medical Education

The School of Medicine at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for a Graduate Medical Education Program Administrator. With oversight and direction from the Program Director and the Director of Education, the Program Administrator is responsible for operational and financial management of GME residency/fellowship training programs. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation and institutional policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Job Responsibilities Include: Assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long-range planning and trainee recruitment Assist in credentialing, orienting, and onboarding trainees Prepare and monitor program budgets and projects Coordinate special events Analyze administrative workflow Maintain application and program databases Create trainee schedules Communicate with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues Provide administrative support to the program directors and trainees Manage internal and external program relations May be asked to perform other duties as assigned The Program Administrator functions as an integral player on the department's centralized education team. Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent. Experience: Two years relevant experience, preferably in Medical Education. Six years equivalent experience, preferably in medical education, may be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to organize and synthesize complex information (such as comprehensive scheduling algorithms) and handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Ability to work independently on a wide variety of tasks - both simple and complex - with minimal supervision and demonstrate advanced decision-making skills. Demonstrate the ability and propensity to learn and work efficiently in multiple technology based soft-ware products such as: Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Google based products, QGenda, Zoom as well as GME software platforms and residency management data bases - New Innovations, ERAS, Thalamus, ACGME and ABIM reporting data bases. Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule, in accordance with UVA's remote work guidelines.
