Electrical Hardware Design Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer (Contract Labor) to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems. You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB/PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification. Skills or experiences: Experience designing PCBs/PWBs using Siemens Xpedition Knowledge of VITA/VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65 Use of lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment What sets you apart: An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test. Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity/power integrity analysis. Experience designing PCBs/PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+, etc.). Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions. Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively, and mentoring junior engineers when needed.
