ER Charge Nurse
We are seeking an ER Charge Nurse, also referred to as an Emergency Room Charge Nurse or Emergency Department Charge Nurse. The ER Charge RN oversees the efficient functioning of the ER department / ED department, balancing administrative duties with patient care. The ER Charge Nurse coordinates patient flow, ensuring the right resources are available for patient needs and that priority cases are addressed promptly. The Charge Nurse will manage staff, assign duties based on skill and patient load while providing guidance and supporting the nursing team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Act as the primary supervisory figure for ER nursing staff during shifts, ensuring optimal care delivery and efficient patient flow Assess patient conditions, prioritize patient needs based on severity, and allocate resources effectively to provide timely care Mentor and support nursing staff, providing guidance, conflict resolution, and performance feedback to maintain a cohesive work team Serve as a liaison between physicians, nurses, patients, and families, ensuring clear communication about treatment plans and patient status Ensure readiness to respond swiftly to medical emergencies by coordinating with medical teams, while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency Work under pressure in fast-paced environments while performing physically demanding tasks such as standing and walking for extended periods Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
