Assistant Director Sports Performance

The Assistant Director Sports Performance is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the strength and conditioning program for assigned varsity sports programs. Responsibilities include supervising the strength and conditioning program for assigned varsity sports programs, instructing student-athletes in the proper strength and conditioning techniques for optimizing performance, development and reducing injuries, remaining current in the knowledge and advances of cardiovascular conditioning, weight training, speed training and nutrition for male and female student-athletes, representing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education in various public relations and fund-raising activities as assigned, responsible for teaching in the required Physical Education program, exhibiting leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes, exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Ivy League Conference, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations, contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Department, and assuming other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education. Minimum requirements and qualifications include a Bachelors Degree, and/or equivalent related experience required, 0-2 years of related experience, minimum qualification: certified by a nationally recognized accredited strength and conditioning certification program: National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) strength and conditioning coach certified (SCCC). Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators and alumni, ability to work within the framework of NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations, and a valid Drivers License is preferred. Successful experience in strength and conditioning preferably at the NCAA Division I or professional level, masters degree in Exercise science or related field, and working knowledge of force plate application, and data analytics are preferred qualifications.
