Department: WAMU Branding and Audience Development Time Type: Full time Job Type: Regular FLSA Status: Exempt Work Modality: Hybrid 01 (On Campus 3-4 Days/Week) Union: Excluded Job Description: The Associate Director manages all annual giving for WAMU 88.5 in support of the Senior Director, Branding and Audience Engagement, including on-air, direct mail, and digital fundraising, as well as serving as the main annual giving liaison for WAMU's advancement team with programming, production, and web staff. Campaigns will be segmented to donor giving level and stated interest. Campaigns for leadership donors (>$1,200) will be planned and implemented in cooperation and collaboration with the Development team. This position is a revenue generating role and has direct responsibility for annual funds raised from donors giving $1 - $1,199 per year. Essential Functions: Annual Giving Leadership On-Air Fundraising Direct Mail Fundraising Team and Partner Leadership Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises Digital Fundraising Manager. Supervisory responsibilities subject to change. Competencies: Championing Customer Needs. Evaluating and Implementing Ideas. Developing Plans. Making Accurate Judgments and Decisions. Building and Supporting Teams. Managing Talent. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full time. 35 hours per week. This position operates with minimal supervision, and frequently requires evening and weekend shifts. Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 annually. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 4-6 years of relevant experience in fundraising or in a related area. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and manage fundraising initiatives. Understanding of public broadcasting fundraising concepts, practices, and procedures. Possess a complete understanding of mechanics and philosophy of membership fundraising including membership campaign production, year-round positioning announcements major donor spots, planned giving spots, and other membership activities. Experience with public radio/public TV on-air talent preferred. Demonstrated technical, broadcast production and editing experience. Demonstrated computer skills and database management experience. Demonstrated ability to work with others in developing, planning and implementing interdepartmental goals and strategies. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills as well as customer service savvy. Must be able to push, pull, lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in communication or related field. 5-8 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in on-air fundraising and other membership campaigns preferred.
