Diagnostic Associate I

Diagnostic Testing and Analysis Learn and perform essential lab techniques like DNA/RNA extraction, real-time PCR, and gel-based assays.
Process, log, and evaluate 1001,000 daily samples for quality and test suitability
attention to detail and color recognition is key

Support disease surveillance programs (like USDA and NAHLN testing) that help protect farms, animals, and the food supply.
Review data and release results after training
all under the guidance of a knowledgeable and welcoming team.
Quality Assurance and Control Help maintain the integrity of diagnostic results by evaluating sample quality and control performance.
Work with peers and supervisors to uphold lab standards and identify potential issues.
Gain exposure to laboratory QA/QC procedures that are essential for future lab roles.
Research and Development Assist with exciting research projects aimed at improving or developing new tests.
Organize and prepare research samples and help support ongoing innovation at the lab.

Performs a variety of diagnostic tests within a specific specialty area.
Acts as a liaison between pathologists and laboratory personnel for research or case series submissions.
Develops, validates and implements new assays for diagnostic and research purposes.
Evaluates current protocols for effectiveness of tests and uses independent judgement to determine when adjustments to procedures are necessary.
Assists in training staff and students.
Works with clients to assist diagnosticians in communicating and troubleshooting testing needs and results.
