We're seeking a dedicated Sr. Architectural Design Manager with a passion for transit architecture and a knack for project leadership, client engagement, and team mentorship. You'll work at the forefront of innovation, contributing your expertise to guide multidisciplinary design and delivery across Rail, Transit, Industrial, and Architectural Facilities. Based in our New York City office, this hybrid role (23 days/week in-office) offers you the chance to lead impactful projects while collaborating across diverse teams committed to excellence and shared success. Key Responsibilities: You'll lead and deliver comprehensive architectural design programs, providing strategic oversight and coordination across all phases of development: Serve as a primary client interface, building lasting relationships and fostering trust across all stakeholders Direct project planning efforts, including:

Developing project management plans and aligning solutions with stakeholder goals Evaluating alternatives and recommending optimal design approaches

Manage architectural design and engineering phases for major capital investments, overseeing:

Scoping and budgeting Coordination with internal teams and external partners including agencies, local governments, and design consultants

Execute project monitoring and control activities throughout the full lifecycle:

Develop and present progress reports Manage schedules, budgets, and change processes Conduct monthly status updates to senior leadership

Here's what you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Architecture Registered Architect in New York or New Jersey 20+ years of experience in architectural design, with 10+ years in Transit Architecture in a Project Manager capacity Strong background using accounting/financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Deltek) Proven ability to manage multi-discipline coordination and project delivery Ideally, you'll also have: PMP Certification NCARB Certification Familiarity with NY, NYC, and NJ building codes and permitting processes Demonstrated leadership in professional organizations Strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills Experience in profit/loss responsibility and project delivery oversight Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Dynamic, self-motivated, and capable of working independently Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines Proven ability to work and execute multiple project assignments Enthusiastic team player with a collaborative approach to design and development Willingness to visit active construction sites as needed Jacobs' health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $190,000.00 to $280,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
