Associate Project Manager
This vacancy is only open to current permanent Parks employees serving in the Associate Project Manager civil service title or on leave from the title or permanent Parks employees in or on leave from a comparable title or employees who are reachable on the Associate Project Manager civil service list or a comparable civil service list. The Engineering Audit Division monitors the funds and expenditures of Capital projects, ensuring that contractors/consultants deliver all services agreed upon. Major Responsibilities include: Under general supervision, review and audit payments for accuracy and compliance within guidelines provided by City Comptroller's Directives. Perform desk audits of construction payments. Ensure that required insurances, overruns, time extensions, guarantees and warranties are in force. Monitor Unifier and in-house tracking system. Identify defects in materials/workmanship during field audits including hazardous conditions. Ensure payments are proportional to the percentage of work completed. Examine calculation books and records to ensure they are being properly maintained. Perform 220 New York State Labor Law compliance audits using certified payroll reports, daily sign-in sheets and resident engineer's reports to verify compliance. Prepare a daily report snapshot and verify labor law compliance at every field visit where contractors are actively working. Work Location: Olmsted Center, Queens Qualifications include one year of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, on engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $1,000,000 or more, and either: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in "1" above; or A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college or university education and/or experience described in "1" above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. Salary Min: $85,000.00 Salary Max: $93,000.00
